Innerleithen digital switchover schedule

Note: This is the only schedule for digital switchover. Digital services cannot be introduced before the dates listed for "testing purposes" as they will generally use the same transmission frequencies as the services they replace. Another alternative, available today, is Freesat.

So Please Remember you will still have to change from Tv to Digital on your remote until all channels are available.

Rent of three red roses to the Queen (Glenormiston House)

Under a "Reddendo" deal struck with the Crown in 1516, a token rent of three red roses must be made by anyone who buys six-bedroom Glenormiston House near Peebles, whenever the monarch is in Scotland.

The new owners will also have to maintain an ancient tradition that obliges them to pass on a single rose to the Queen on Christmas Day.

If you are ever passing through Innerleithen and you see the brown tourist signs pointing to St Ronan’s Wells you should take a look.

The View from St Ronan's Garden to the Pavilion

 It was early evening so the Interpretation Centre was closed but the garden is open until dusk and there is a tap at which you can sample the spring water with plastic tumblers thoughtfully provided. There’s free parking outside, toilet facilities and plenty of benches with good view...
